The Surry Community College volleyball team will hold its annual All Skills Volleyball Camp from Monday, July 17 until Thursday, July 20 at the newly renovated Surry Community College gym on the Dobson campus. The camp is open at all boys and girls between the ages of six and 16. Each camper will be placed according to age and/or ability.
The camp will include two separate sessions. The first session will be held from 9 a.m. until noon. It is for individuals with less than one year of experience. The second session, from 1-4 p.m., is for individuals with more than one year of experience. The camp will consist of instruction in all the following areas: passing, setting, hitting, offensive and defensive drills, core and agility work.
Instructors at the camp will include Surry head coach Jan Marion-Kiser and several current members of the SCC volleyball team.
The camp costs $40 per person and includes a camp t-shirt. A discount is available to families with two or more members participating, with each child’s registration being $30. Parents are required to sign a release of liability at the time of registration. Participants may register for the camp by completing a camp brochure at www.surryknights.com.
Campers should wear volleyball or tennis-type (rubber) shoes, a t-shirt, and loose-fitting shorts. Knee pads are encouraged, but not required. Campers are asked not to wear jewelry of any type.
Drinks and snacks are welcome, but not required. Concessions will be available for campers during lunch and breaks. Campers may also purchase lunch at The Knights’ Grill during the camp. Gatorade and water will be provided at all times.
