Art show seeking entries

CRITZ, VA — The Reynolds Homestead will once again host the JEB Stuart Art Show, on exhibition Sept. 6 through Oct. 25. All interested artists are encouraged to enter the show which awards $2,000 in prizes in six categories.

The JEB Stuart Show is for adults ages 18 and older who reside in Patrick, Surry, Stokes, Henry, Franklin, Floyd or Carroll counties. Any native of Patrick County, regardless of current residence, is also eligible to enter. Anyone outside of the eligible counties may enter by becoming a member of the Bull Mountain Arts association, which can be done at the time of registration.

All work must be original, completed within the past three years, and never entered in a previous JEB Stuart show. Artists may submit a total of two works of art with their entry fee of $25. Members of Bull Mountain Arts may pay a reduced entry fee of $20.

Categories in this year’s show are: Oil Painting, Acrylic Painting, Watercolor Painting, Drawing (includes pastels, pen and ink, charcoal, and colored pencil), 2D Mixed Media and Three Dimensional.

The opening reception and awards ceremony will be held on Friday, Sept. 6 at 6 p.m. at the Reynolds Homestead.
