• A Mount Airy man is facing seven drug charges involving various illegal narcotics, stemming from a suspicious-person investigation, according to city police department reports. William Zachary Epperson, 23, of 1667 Bryant Road, was encountered by police on May 5 at a Hadley Street location during that investigation, leading to felony charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
Epperson also is accused of two misdemeanor counts of possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, along with possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held in the Surry County Jail under a $12,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in District Court on June 27.
• Delia Marie Coria, 37, of Roaring River, is a facing a charge of injury to personal property which was issued on May 6 after an incident in the parking of Cumbia Mix on West Pine Street, where she allegedly damaged a vehicle owned by Eddie Hernandez of Greensboro. Coria is slated to be in Surry District Court on June 14.
• A larceny charge was issued against Fernando Soto, 23, of Winston-Salem, on May 5 at Walmart, when he allegedly took items with a total value of $113. The case is set for the July 18 court session.
• Wendy Nichole Hawks, 31, of 180 W. Cleve St., turned herself in at the city magistrate’s office on May 4 for a larceny charge that had been filed through the Dobson Police Department on April 15, with no other details listed. Hawks was released on a written promise to appear in court.
