The Surry County Senior Center is hosting free interactive workshop sessions on Thursdays from now through Nov. 6, focusing on problems common to individuals dealing with type 2 diabetes. Participants will learn to deal with symptoms of diabetes, manage stress and medication usage, and learn healthy eating habits and exercise techniques.
Topics include blood glucose monitoring, healthy eating, physical activity, stress and emotion, sick days, infections and other illnesses associated with diabetes, preventing complications from diabetes.
Living Healthy with Diabetes is a workshop that will help you take control of your diabetes rather than letting it control you. Learn how diabetes affects your life and gain self-confidence in your ability to control symptoms. Living Healthy with Diabetes workshop can help you better manage diabetes, improve quality of life, and lower health care costs.
This free workshop is presented by the Piedmont Triad Regional Council Area Agency on Aging in collaboration with the YVEDDI Surry County Senior Center.
