Police reports

• A Mount Airy man is facing a larceny violation for allegedly stealing hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise from Walmart Monday night, according to city police department reports. Wilson Dale Branham, 42, of 236 Burton St., is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on Aug. 23, with police records noting that $332 in restitution is owed to the store.

• Also Monday, Amber Renee Hester, 28, of 221 Mayberry Ave., was served with a criminal summons charging her with a larceny offense that had been issued on June 15 through the Surry County Sheriff’s Office, with no details listed. Hester is free on an unsecured bond to be in District Court on July 17.

• Michael Ray Norman, 46, of 167 Sherman Trail, was charged with soliciting money in violation of a city ordinance and being intoxicated and disruptive on May 28. Norman allegedly was asking for money and disturbing customers’ children at the Speedway convenience store on West Pine Street. After his arrest, Norman was found to have a blood-alcohol content of 0.23 percent, nearly triple the legal limit for driving. He is free on a $2,500 unsecured bond to appear in District Court on July 13.

• Jacquez Malecka Green, 18, of 1334 N. Main St., was served on May 28 with an outstanding criminal summons charging him with injury to personal property, which had been filed through the Surry County Sheriff’s Office on May 16 with Gary Carson Leake of Hamburg Street as the complainant. Green’s court date is July 14.

• C.W. Webster Jr., 47, of Winston-Salem, was arrested on a second-degree trespassing violation charge on May 27 at Circle K on Rockford Street, where he had been banned in September 2014 and allegedly was intoxicated and “causing a problem,” police records state. Webster was jailed under a $300 secured bond and is to be in Surry District Court on Aug. 8.

• Joshua Adam Duncan, 35, of 1312 Park Drive, was arrested on May 26 on a governor’s warrant from Virginia after being located behind Forrest Oaks Shopping Center. Duncan was held in the Surry County Jail on the warrant relating to an unspecified matter in Patrick County.

• Lora Elizabeth Vipperman, 33, of 170 Marshall St., was charged with hit and run on May 26. Vipperman was released on a $1,000 unsecured bond and slated for a court appearance next Tuesday.

• Christina Allen Golding, 25, of 690 McBride Road, was cited for larceny on May 26, when she allegedly took unspecified items from Walmart valued at $162. Golding’s court date is July 26.

• A violation of shoplifting/concealment of merchandise was issued against Jason Alexander Austin, 35, of 135 W. Lebanon St., on May 26, when he allegedly took a mini personal fan and 45-inch shoelaces from Rite Aid on East Lebanon Street, which were recovered. Austin is free on a written promise to appear in District Court on July 5 and has been banned from store property.
