PILOT MOUNTAIN — A local man was arrested last week on child pornography charges.
Christopher Lewis Tucker, 30, of 800 Westridge Drive, Pilot Mountain, was charged with third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and felonious possession of a firearm.
According to the incident report filed by the Pilot Mountain Police Department, Tucker was arrested at his place of residence, following a search warrant, on Feb. 24 at around 4:44 p.m.
The arrest came after a three- to four-month-long investigation by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, according to Pilot Police Chief Darryl Bottoms.
Phone messages left with the FBI for additional comment were not returned before press time.
Tucker was previously convicted of the felony charge of assault by strangulation in Mecklenburg County in 2010, according to the North Carolina Department of Corrections. He was sentenced to 7-9 months, according to the arrest warrant issued by Surry County last week on the sexual exploitation charge.
Tucker is being held at the Surry County jail on a $25,000 secured bond and is due to appear in court on April 17 for the two current charges.
