Police reports

• A Pinnacle man was held in the Surry County Jail under no bond after being charged early Sunday with damage to real property and domestic criminal trespassing, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports. Gavin Marcel Green, 25, of 1487 N.C. 268, was encountered at a location on Carolina Court where he had been banned in September. Green is scheduled to appear in District Court on Feb. 20.

• Also Sunday, police learned of a break-in that had occurred earlier in the month at an unoccupied residence in the 700 block of North Main Street, where $150 in damage was done to a door using a pry tool. No property was listed as missing from the crime in which Bob Allen Rowinsky of Oak Island is the victim.

• A chemical spill occurred on Nov. 25 near the intersection of East Pine Street and Riverside Drive, where about 100 gallons of hydraulic fluid from a vehicle covered the roadway and caused traffic problems. The suspect in the incident, driving a white 2000 Ford F-350 truck with Virginia tags, left the scene.

• A moped valued at $400 was discovered missing from the residence of owner Johnny Edgar Jenkins on Rockford Street on Nov. 25. It is a 2014 model, black and gray in color.

• Joshua Swanson Southard, 28, of 161 Railroad Lane, Thurmond, is facing violations of displaying fictitious registration, driving while license revoked and possession of drug paraphernalia as the result of a Nov. 25 traffic stop on Rockford Street at Edgewood Drive. Southard is to be in Surry District Court on Jan. 20.

• Violations of larceny and possession of stolen property were filed against Zachary Robert Abrams, 16, of 835 Squirrel Creek Road, Ararat, Virginia, on Nov. 11 after he allegedly was seen concealing merchandise at Walmart. Abrams was stopped after exiting the store and found in possession of a stolen Bluetooth speaker for a cell phone valued at $17, which was recovered. Abrams is scheduled to appear in District Court on Dec. 14 and has been banned from Walmart.

• A toy Yamaha Power Wheels four-wheeler valued at $300 was discovered missing on Nov. 11 from a location on Circle Drive. The property subsequently was recovered and returned to owner Jared Lanthier, a Linville Road resident, with no explanation listed in police records.

• John Michael King, 51, of 186 Nearway Trail, Cana, Virginia, was charged with assault with a deadly weapon on Nov. 10 after he allegedly assaulted Stacie Lee Horton with a baseball bat at the latter’s home on Pippen Street, causing minor injuries. King was jailed under a $2,500 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in District Court on Dec. 19.
