Police reports

• A Mount Airy man was arrested Sunday on charges including breaking and entering of a motor vehicle, larceny and possession of stolen property, according to city police department reports. Douglas Wayne Honeycutt, 25, of 1264 E. Pine St., was arrested at a Junction Street location, with no information listed about the vehicle, property or owner involved. Honeycutt was held in the Surry County Jail under a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in District Court on June 8.

• Her alleged theft of bedding sheets valued at about $40 from Walmart led to larceny and possession of stolen goods offenses being filed Friday against Kristian Nicole McDaniel, 26, of 524 Carolina Ave. The stolen property was recovered in saleable condition and McDaniel is to be in Surry District Court on June 8.

• A larceny was reported at Mayberry Market in downtown Mount Airy on April 26, involving a of Snap-Happy Jewelry mini-pendant of Designs Unlimited in Galax, Virginia, which has a vendor site at Mayberry Market. That business also is listed as a victim of the crime.

• A second-degree trespassing offense was filed against Jimmy Dee Snow, 46, of 121 Hamburg St., on April 26, after he was encountered during a domestic dispute at that location, from which he had been advised earlier that day not to return to by a city officer. Snow signed a written promise to appear in court on June 7, but was ordered to be held in the county jail until sober.

• Blackweb earbuds valued at $30 were stolen from Walmart by a known individual on April 22.

• The theft of a Michelin tire valued at $100 was discovered on April 21 from a 1997 Chrysler Town and Country van owned by Susan Goad Massey of Cherry Street. The tire was stolen after the vehicle was left unattended in the Walmart parking lot.

• Also on April 21, police learned of an attempt to break into an outbuilding at an unidentified business in the 400 block of North South Street. A doorknob was broken during the incident, with the victim of the crime identified as Sammy C. Shaw of Cana, Virginia, who is associated with Sammy Shaw Construction.

• A debit card was discovered to have been stolen on April 19 from the residence of Elizabeth Michelle Nance on Lovill Street, with Nance’s card then used to withdraw money from her checking account. No loss figure was listed.
