Chariots of Fire Christian Motorcycle Ministry at Firehouse Ministries is hosting a motorcycle ride, on Sunday, Sept. 13 beginning at 1 p.m.
The ride will start at Firehouse Ministries, located at 840 Fowler Road in Mount Airy, and end with a provided meal at Sagebrush Steakhouse in Mount Airy.
Registration for bikes and cars begins at 1 p.m. and with the ride to begin at 2:15 p.m.
The cost to participate in thw ride is $20 per single rider, $25 per double and $25 for a car/truck with two participants. Any additional person in a car/truck will be $5 to cover the cost of the meal.
All proceeds from the ride will go directly to help and support parents of babies in the NICU. The donations will fund a Christmas party for families that have a child in the NICU.
David and Jessica Mappa founded the ride and coordinated it for the motorcycle ministry. After starting to organize the event, David Mappa approached Sagebrush with the possibility of becoming the final destination for the ride, where he found the manager willing to help as he also had experience with a NICU in the past.
“The Chariots have members that have had babies in the NICU and know what a trying time it can be, emotionally and financially,” said Carrie Tussey.
Chariots of Fire Christian Motorcycle Ministry is made up of both men and women from all walks of life who love God, love people and of course love to ride, according to organizers.
