Police reports

• A Mount Airy man was arrested on two felony warrants Sunday and jailed under a $20,000 secured bond, according to city police department reports. Richard Kenneth Shull II, of 120 W. Pine St., No. 31, is accused of larceny of chose in action — which refers to the taking of checks or other materials issued for payment — and uttering a forged instrument. The charges had been filed the day before, with Jacob Alan Hiatt, a resident of Holly Brook Trail, listed as the complainant, but no other details were given. Shull is scheduled to be in Surry District Court on Sept. 24.

• Seth Aaron Kernodle, 26, of 510 Hamburg St., was arrested Friday after he allegedly fled from Kmart with a 21-inch RCA television set valued at $159. Kernodle was detained by a mall security officer, Michael Gammons, who was assaulted by Kernodle, police records show. Officers who responded also discovered two outstanding orders for arrest against the man for failing to appear in court in Surry and Forsyth counties, and he was confined in the Surry County Jail on those matters in addition to having larceny and simple assault violations issued against him stemming from the mall situation. Kernodle was held under a $2,600 secured bond and slated for a Sept. 15 District Court appearance.

• Abigail Pedraza Osorio, 18, of 2307 Wards Gap Road, was cited for texting while driving and a provisional (underage) driving while impaired violation on Aug. 15 after an accident investigation. Osorio admitted to texting while operating a 2011 Dodge Charger and drinking at a party she had left from, and tested positive for alcohol on a sensor device. She is scheduled to be in District Court on Sept. 9.

• A case of financial transaction card forgery occurred on Aug. 14, which involved an unknown party using a credit card owned by Chris Owens of Lewisville, an employee of the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, to make a fraudulent purchase at Food Lion on West Pine Street. No loss figure was listed.

• Two Galax, Virginia, residents were cited for concealment of $522 worth of merchandise at Walmart on Aug. 14, Casey Dawn Chambers, 26, and Anthony Caine Jackson, 19. Their District Court date is Oct. 14.

• Summer Nichole Davis, 30, of 210 W. Pine St., was arrested on Aug. 14 on an outstanding warrant for a larceny violation which had been issued on March 29 with Darlene Mills Davis of Siloam Road as the complainant. No other details were listed regarding the case, for which Summer Nichole Davis was jailed under a $1,000 secured bond.
