We greet you in the name of the Lord. I am so humbly honored to connect with each and every one of you readers out there. I always love to fellowship with our readers and listeners and talk about how god has blessed me to see and another year. What a blessing to be among the living as another year has gone by and we should be giving God the praise, for he is worthy to be praised. I am talking about Jesus Christ. We’re celebrating Jesus along with celebrating Black History month because without Jesus we could not celebrate anything.
Please bear in mind we’re also honoring the holy season (Lenten) a time of repentance that started on Feb. 10, which is Ash Wednesday, and it’s observed or celebrated until Easter Sunday. There in our thoughts we can go to a great and peaceful place to just reflect on Jesus Christ. My thought is by making the most of the time and opportunity that we have.
The Bible says in Psalms 90 vs.10: the days of our years are threescore and ten and by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength, labor and sorrow; for it is soon cut off and we fly away. Psalms 90 vs 12: So teach us to number our days that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
You know dear people it’s so easy to get complacent and feel that we are just fine right where we are in life or I really don’t have to do anymore, is what we say to ourselves. Look at what I have accomplished. That is why we need to get serious with God. We can always have more room to grow.
The Bible says in Ecclesiastes’ 9 vs 10: Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom in the grave whither thou goest.
A few weeks ago we celebrated Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday. He took a stand, not only for the black race, but for each and every one for equality. I’m not trying to be political. I’m speaking the gospel truth. We have come so far, but not to the place where we should be. Please! Let’s get serious with God. The only way we can overcome is if we do our own part, even one person can make a big difference.
The late John Lennon of the Beetles wrote: Imagine all the people, why can’t we be as one. It’s time to get serious. The late Julian Bond fought as long as I can remember he was a fighter for a cause. What is wrong? We are! Explore every opportunity you have to make a difference.
The Bible says in Ephesians 5 vs 15-16: See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time because the days are evil.
I truly want to give acknowledgement to my late mother Elder Rosie L Reynolds for the legacy she left behind. She was a fateful, faithful pioneer paving the way in her work to make a difference. I hold her dear in my heart. The most wonderful thing about being a child of god is, sometimes situations can be overwhelming but, he is there to see us through. Colossians 4 vs 5: Walk in wisdom toward them that are without redeeming the time. As I bring my column to a close. Please let us remember to get serious with god! Keep the faith and run the race! God bless you!
