Cassie Elisabeth Gardner and Brooks Franklin Mayberry were united in marriage on September 10, 2016, at JOLO Winery and Vineyards in Pilot Mountain. Dr. Jon Cawley was the officiating minister.
The bride is the daughter of Dr. And Mrs. Nelson Gardner of Mount Airy. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Mary Ellen Midkiff of Mount Airy and the late Mr. Thurmond Midkiff and the late Mr. and Mrs. Don Gardner.
She is a 2009 graduate of Mount Airy High School and a 2013 honors graduate of North Carolina State University with a BS in business. She is employed as an account manager for Lenovo in Research Triangle Park.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mayberry of Wilkesboro. He is the grandson of Mrs. Grace Frank Mayberry of Wilkesboro and the late Mr. Lott Mayberry and the late Betsy Goldston and the late Alan Goldston.
He is a 2010 graduate of Mount Airy High School and a 2014 honors graduate of North Carolina State University with a BS in civil engineering. He is employed as a project manager for Skanska Construction Company in Durham.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
She wore an ivory/cashmere Chantilly lace slim bridal gown by Alvina Valenta with placed Alencon lace and shimmer throughout. It featured a sheer bateau neckline with cap sleeves and an illusion back. Her veil was a long Chantilly lace circle and she wore a beaded belt with an ornate centerpiece and silk organza ties. She carried a bouquet of eucalyptus, white roses, ten anemone, white snap dragons,burgundy spray roses, red sweet William and white peonies cinched with a golden ribbon created for her by Taylored Blooms.
The bride’s sister, Maddie Gardner, who resides in Greensboro, served as her maid of honor.
Bridesmaids were Amanda Brookie of Charlotte, Mary Catherine Cofer of Knoxville, Tennessee Jennifer Collins of Raleigh, Lauren Henry of Raleigh and Megan Williams of Raleigh.
The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore beaded toffee a-line gowns with a blouson bodice and natural waistline by Donna Morgan. Taylor Hudson, of Mount Airy, was the hair and makeup artist for the bride and her bridesmaids.
Mr. Frank Mayberry of Wilkesboro, father of the groom and Max Isaacson of Raleigh, served as best men.
Groomsmen were Zac Fagan of Asheville, Mateo Gonzales of Austin, Texas, and Wade Moody of Nashville, Tennessee.
Program and guest book attendants were Levi Banks, Layton Allen and Lane Allen, cousins of the bride.
The getaway crew, passing flower petals for the guests to throw as the newlyweds departed in a 1955 Bentley, were Trey Mayberry, Emma Claire Mayberry and Margie Lynn Mayberry, cousins of the groom.
Music for the ceremony was provided by a string quartet from Corda Entertainment.
Following the ceremony, the brides parents hosted a reception at JOLO Winery and Vineyards with dinner and dancing with music provided by Anything Music with DJ Craig Pearman.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mayberry, parents of the groom, was held on Friday evening at Old North State Winery in downtown Mount Airy.
The bridesmaids’ brunch was held in the Greenhill Room at Cross Creek Country Club.
