In honor of their one-year anniversary, the parents of Meghan Bryn O’Connell and Blake Christopher Roth announce their marriage, which took place on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Barn at Blueberry Hill in Elkin. The service was officiated by Pastor Cory Honeycutt.
Meghan is the daughter of Brian and Susan O’Connell of Dobson. She is the granddaughter of Kenneth and Lavon Frye of South Egremont, MA and the late William and Aida O’Connell of Vermont.
Meghan graduated from Niceville High School in Niceville, Florida in 2004. She received a dual B.S. degree in Exercise Science and Community Health Education from the University of West Florida in 2009, and a B.S. in nursing from Winston-Salem State University in 2012. She is a registered nurse at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital.
Blake is the son of Daniel and Nancy Roth of Boonville. He is the grandson of the late Emil and Virginia Roth and Jim and Emily Brown. Blake graduated from Starmount High School in 1999. He received a B.S. in Spanish Education from Appalachian State University in 2003. He is a Spanish teacher and head men’s soccer coach at Surry Central High School.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. The bride wore an ivory satin A-line gown with custom lace shoulders, heavily beaded with a keyhole back, custom redesigned by Kimberly York from English’s Bridal in Clemmons.
The matron of honor was Mrs. Amanda Smith-Fierstein of Aspen, CO. The flower girl was the couple’s black lab pup, Lucy Roth.
The best man was Matthew Richardson of Elkin. The ring bearer was Matthew’s son, Atlee Jack.
Music for the ceremony was provided by the talented DJ, guitarist, and vocalist Maggie Lowe.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Barn at Blueberry Hill, and was catered by John Ingino Catering of Winston-Salem.
A rehearsal dinner, hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Roth, was held the evening prior to the ceremony at Cedarbrook Country Club in Elkin.
The couple honeymooned in Argentina and Uruguay, and reside in Dobson.
