Kristen Kelly Parker and Blake Nathaniel White were united in marriage on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at 5 p.m. at the Hillside Gazebo at Cody Creek, Depot Lane, Dobson. Dr. Greg Mathis, uncle of the groom, and Rev. Cory Honeycutt, pastor of the bridal couple, officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Greg Leonard of Charlotte, NC and Kelly Key of Mount Airy.
She is a graduate of North Surry High School and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, NC. She is employed by Pike Electric, Mount Airy.
The groom is the son of Terry and Beth White of Dobson.
He is a graduate of Surry Central High School and a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, NC He is also employed by Pike Electric, Mount Airy.
The bride was given away by her father, Greg Leonard.
The bride’s dress was an original Stella York Dolce Satin wedding dress with a low illusion lace back, bateau illusion lace sweetheart neckline, scalloped hem, and chapel train. Her tulle and lace trimmed veil was her “something borrowed” from her matron of honor.
The bridal bouquet consisted of fall colored roses, miniature lime pompoms, dahlias, berries and aster. It was adorned with a “jeweled green clover leaf” to honor the couple’s first meeting each other on St. Patrick’s Day.
The matron of honor was Brittany Richardson.
Bridesmaids were Addisen Key, Brooke Branch, Emily Parker, Courteney Mayes, Traci Cheek, Kelsey Norman, Katie Knights, and Kerri Sexton.
Two of the grooms nieces, Bella Elizabeth Branch and Salem Chrislyn Branch, served as flower girls.
Terry White, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jeremy Branch, Casey Garrison, Andrew Matthews, J.T. Snow, Trent Hefner, Evan Key, Adam Parker, Cory Parker, and Dustin Montgomery.
Avery Clay Matthews and Amos Colt Matthews served as ring bearers.
The wedding director was Lisa Snow.
The reception was held at the Depot Banquet Hall immediately following the wedding where guests dined and danced.
The parents of the groom entertained the wedding party on Friday evening with a rehearsal dinner party at the Depot Club House.
The happy couple departed on their honeymoon to Italy where they took in the sites, culture and wonderful Italian food of Venice, Florence and Rome.
The couple will reside in Mount Airy.
