HODGES

MOUNT AIRY — Mr. William Leonard Hodges, 73, of Mount Airy, a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, March 9, 2013. Mr. Hodges was born in Surry County on July 24, 1939, to Willie Pless and Hilda Elizabeth Hodges. He was retired from his family owned business, Hodges Transmission Shop. One of his favorite pastimes was riding his golf cart with his beloved pet Rowdy to visit friends and neighbors. Mr. Hodges never met a stranger, was better known as “PA” and could light up a room with his just his smile. He loved the Lord, his family and friends and he will be greatly missed. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 50 years, Ruby Mae Hodges of the home; three daughters and son-in-law, Deanne Hodges Hooker and husband Phillip of Pilot Mountain, Lisa Hodges Arnder and husband Ray of Dobson and Missy Hodges Goins and husband Marty of Mount Airy; beloved grandchildren, Daniel Morton, Kirstie Morton, Hobie Arnder, Isabella Hooker and Dylan Smith; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Carol Jean and Bobby Edwards, Judy and Jimmy Sams, Reeda and Keith Massey and Wilma and Dwain Galyean; a brother and sister-in-law, Ward and Ella Jean Hodges; a special niece, Wendy Rozier; and of course his beloved pet, Rowdy. In addition to his parents, Mr. Hodges was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Cayden Seth Morton. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 15, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Larry Stone. Burial will follow in Skyline Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Online condolences may be made at www.moodyfuneralservices.com.
