MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Wayne Adam Jessup, 87, of 1115 Josh Road, Mount Airy, widower of Mrs. Mary Inez Martin Jessup, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Northern Hospital of Surry County. He was born Nov. 30, 1925, in Surry County to the late Adam Reid and Martha Lee Anderson Jessup. He was retired from Armtex and attended Albion Baptist Church. Mr. Jessup was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served during World War II. Surviving are two sisters, Lucy Jessup Rogers of Pilot Mountain and Kathleen Jessup Frye of Mount Airy; and six brothers and sisters-in-law, Junior E. and Leota Jessup of Mount Airy, Beauford and Carol Jessup of Westfield, Boyd and Barbara Jessup of Mount Airy, Lonnie and Judy Jessup of Pilot Mountain, Lester and Shirley Jessup of Mount Airy and Kenneth and Brenda Jessup of Clemmons. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Jessup was preceded in death by a brother, Clarence Jessup and wife, Eugenia; and two brothers-in-law, Grady Frye and Boyce Rogers. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Moody Funeral Home Chapel conducted by the Rev. Ricky Rogers, the Rev. Ricky Spencer and the Rev. Odell Sisk. Burial will follow in the Albion Baptist Church cemetery. Full military rites will be conducted at the graveside by VFW Memorial Honor Guard Post 2019 Mount Airy and Post 9436 Pilot Mountain. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Moody Funeral Home.
