MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Timothy Dale McDaniel, 53, of 165 Carolina Road, Mount Airy, passed away Friday night, Dec. 21, 2012, at Golden Living Center. Mr. McDaniel was born March 17, 1959, in Gaston County, one of four children born to the Rev. Rebern Leon “R.L.” and Mildred Skipper McDaniel. Timothy was educated in the Mount Airy City Schools and the Rutherford County School System. He was employed at LIFESPAN in Dobson for nearly 17 years. Timothy was a dedicated Christian and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. As an avid sports fan, he loved the Washington Redskins, UNC Tarheel Basketball, and the Cincinnati Reds. Timothy appreciated music and especially loved Randy Travis’ music. He is survived by his parents, the Rev. Rebern Leon “R.L.” and Mildred Skipper McDaniel of the home; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary Beth and Jeff Tsai of Apex; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Douglas Leon and Mary McDaniel of Cape Girardeau, Mo., and Michael Dean and Vickie McDaniel of Mount Airy; four nieces; three nephews; several aunts and uncles; many special cousins; and many special friends. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Garner Cleveland and Bernice Wilson Skipper; and his paternal grandparents, James Randolph and Lizzie Robertson McDaniel. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church in Mount Airy, with the Rev. Chris Benfield and the Rev. Keith Love officiating. Burial will follow in the Blues Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church.
