Ruth Elizabeth Bates Tucker, 88, passed into the loving arms of the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 13, 2012 at Wake Med Cary Hospital. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister and wife and a joy to all who knew her. She was married for 67 years to the love of her life, Ralph Tucker, who preceded her in death in September of this year. She was a kind and loving person and leaves a big void in our hearts and lives. Surviving are her daughter, Loretta T. Mundy and husband, Randy, of Charlotte; sons Michael A. Tucker and wife, Janice, of Raleigh and Ronnie S. Tucker of Benson; sister Ruby Watson of Toast; grandchildren Kimberly Gonzalez, Angela Tucker, Benjamin Tucker and Suzanne Radford. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Montlawn Funderal Home. Interment will follow at Montlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. The family would like to thank all of their friends and neighbors for the help and support given Mrs. Tucker especially during her declining health.
