CLEMMONS — Mrs. Billyken Nell Chilton Thompson, 78, of Clemmons, passed away Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home in Winston-Salem. She was born in Surry County on Nov. 30, 1934, to the late William Oliver and Myrtle Hall Chilton. Mrs. Thompson was a homemaker and was a member of Clemmons Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband, Robert Thompson of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, John and Ann Thompson and Bob and Susan Thompson, all of Clemmons; two grandchildren, LeighAnn Thompson and Robert Thompson, both of Clemmons; and a special friend, Sadie Spaugh of Winston-Salem. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Thompson was preceded in death by two sisters, Dell Inman and Wanda Stevens; and one brother, Lewis Chilton. A graveside service will be held Sunday, Dec. 9, 2012, at 3 p.m. at New Venture Baptist Church with the Rev. Bailey Nelson officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Kate B.
