DOBSON — Mr. Robert Anthony “Tony” Kiger, 53, of Dobson, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Northern Hospital of Surry. He was born on July 15, 1959, in Forsyth County to Robert M. Wright and Brenda Lee Kiger. Mr. Kiger worked for Northern Hospital and Coca Cola in Mount Airy and was a member of Levels Cross United Methodist Church. Mr. Kiger is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Tracey Bowman Kiger of the home; two sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Jade Kiger and Matthew and Mary Kiger of Dobson; two very loving grandsons, Mason Brooks Kiger and Raiden Matthew Kiger; and was excitedly awaiting the birth of a beautiful granddaughter, Raelyn Marie Kiger; one brother and two sisters and an additional sister he was overjoyed to meet two years ago. Mr. Kiger was preceded in death by his grandparents, Omar and Lola Kiger, who adopted him at an early age. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Level’s Cross United Methodist Church with the Rev. Rickey Spencer officiating. The family would like to thank all rescue staff and ER staff at Northern Hospital and Dr. Jason Stopyra. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to help with funeral expenses, c/o Cox-Needham Funeral Home, P.O. Box 37, Pilot Mountain, NC 27041. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
