PLEASANT GARDEN — Mr. Jackson Bob Freeman, 92, of Pleasant Garden, formerly of Surry County, passed away at his home on Saturday morning, Oct. 27, 2012. He was born in Surry County on Aug. 1, 1920, to the late Vance and Rosie Belle Jones Freeman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Stanley Freeman; four brothers; and two sisters. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in WWII, and also was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Surviving are one daughter, Brenda Campbell of Pleasant Garden; one stepson, Jackie Freeman of Elkin; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Margie Cockerham of Jonesville, Geneva Key of Dobson and Nettie Childress of Kernersville. Funeral services will be held Monday, Oct. 29, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Union Cross Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Union Cross Baptist Church Cemetery. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Marty Reece and Brother Lonnie Freeman.
