Mrs. Gladys Elizabeth Wall O’Neal, 80, a resident of 5990 Howard Circle, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at her residence. She was born in Surry County, December 14, 1931 a daughter of John Wesley Wall and Bessie Ann Cummins Wall and was a resident of Archdale for most of her life. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Thomasville and was a former employee of Carson Inc. in Archdale. On December 23, 1946 she was married to Lonnie Loman O’Neal who died December 2, 1994. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert Loman O’Neal and Wesley Harold O’Neal, by two grandsons, Christopher Todd O’Neal and Michael Aaron O’Neal, by a sister, Hester Wall Bruner, and by two brothers, J.W. Wall and Tom Cummins. Surviving are two daughters, Brenda Anne Hoglen of the home and Belvia Kay (Bev) Huffman and her husband Clarence of Thomasville; two sons, James Kirby O’Neal and his wife Janice Marie of Trinity and Brent Dudley O’Neal and his wife Derenda of High Point; two sisters, Bertie Marie Beck of Trinity and Celia Shinault and her husband Bill of Mt. Airy. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at 2 PM at Bethany Baptist Church in Thomasville by the Rev. Thomas Fields and the Rev. W.A. “Junior” Seawell, Jr. Burial will be in Oakwood Memorial Park in High Point. The body will remain at J.C. Green & Sons Funeral Home in Thomasville until placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the service. The family will be at the funeral home Monday from 6 until 8 PM and other times at the residence.
