MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Donald Verlon Marshall, 62, passed away Saturday night, Sept. 15, 2012, at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem from complications of pneumonia. Mr. Marshall was born in Surry County on April 13, 1950, to Lola Virginia Galyean Marshall and the late Vinyard Verlon Marshall. He was a self-employed auto mechanic. In addition to his mother, Mr. Marshall is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Loretta and Donald Alan Shoaf of Lowgap; a son, Ronald Marshall of Mount Airy; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Glenda Carter of Lake Norman, Judy and Don Fulda of Radcliff, Ky., and Janice and C.W. Newman of Dobson; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roy Lee and Kay Thomas and Arlis and Ann Thomas, all of Mount Airy. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 19, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy with the Rev. Arlis Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at Ivy Green Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2012, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home in Mount Airy. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Moody Funeral Service, P.O.
