• A Longaberger basket and pottery bingo will be held at Veterans Memorial Park, 691 W. Lebanon St., Mount Airy, to raise funds for an educational trip to Niagara Falls, Canada, for the Mount Airy after-school children. • The Mount Airy Museum of Regional History will host a Batik egg workshop for adults from 1 to 4 p.m. in the museum classroom. Participants will be able to learn the ancient method of decorating Easter eggs using simple, primitive tools to “write” intricate designs in beeswax. • Eat Smart, Move More, Weigh Less programs will be held at Rockford Elementary School, Dobson, every Monday at 3:45 p.m. from now through April 29. The program fee is $10. • The Surry County Beekeepers Association will hold a beginning beekeepers school beginning Feb. 25 at the North Carolina Farm Bureau building in Dobson in the downstairs meeting room.
