CHILTON

Mr. Glenn Edgar Chilton, age 88, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Monday, February 4, 2013 at Golden Living Center. He was born on April 2, 1924 in Surry County to the late Emmitt Anderson and Minnie Lawson Chilton. Mr. Chilton was a Funeral Director for over 30 years with Cox-Needham Funeral Home and was a member, Deacon, Sunday School teacher and part of the cemetery committee of Pinnacle View Baptist Church; he also served in the U.S. Navy in WWII. Mr. Chilton is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry Glenn and Shelby Chilton of Courtney, NC, Allan and Jolene Chilton of Pilot Mountain and Blair Chilton of Pilot Mountain; seven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren. Mr. Chilton was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret O’Nell Hart Chilton; parents; two brothers, Otis Chilton and Junior Chilton; one sister, Ruby Marion. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. at Pinnacle View Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Chamblin and Rev. Brian Chilton officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
