• A Dobson woman was arrested in Mount Airy Monday on outstanding orders for arrest which had been issued in November, according to city police department reports. Ashley Luann Goins, 25, of 511 Gillespie St., was taken into custody on violations including providing fictitious information to a law enforcement officer, shoplifting/concealment of goods and simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, after being located in the Wally’s Pharmacy parking lot. Goins was held in the Surry County Jail under a $2,800 secured bond and is to be in District Court on Jan. 15.

• Stefon Darnell Taylor, 19, of 112 May St., is facing violations of simple assault, injury to personal property and underage consumption of alcohol stemming from an incident Tuesday. Taylor is accused of striking Steve Flippen Jr. in the face and breaking a side-view mirror of Flippen’s 2005 Chrysler 300 along with scratching the car. He is slated to appear in Surry District Court on Jan. 16.

• Jonas Garcia, 17, of 118 Banner St., was arrested Monday on an order for arrest for a larceny violation filed on Nov. 21. Garcia was jailed in lieu of a $200 secured bond and is facing a Surry District Court appearance Wednesday.

• Felicia Blair Easter, 19, of 563 Redhill Creek Road, Dobson, was cited for larceny Sunday at Walmart, where she allegedly took merchandise valued at $43, including body mist, nail enamel, toothpaste and makeup accessories. Easter is to be in District Court on Feb. 5.

• Property damage was reported on Dec. 20 at Merritt Supply on Rockford Street, where an unknown individual fell into a window while skateboarding in the parking lot. The damage was estimated at $1,500.
