For those who have been wanting to see the quality crafts created locally, Round Peak Vineyards is the place to be this weekend.

Today Round Peak Vineyards is hosting a Holiday Bazaar focusing on works created by local artisans.

The event will feature work from artists in Surry County as well as surrounding counties, and will run from noon to 6 p.m.

The artists will include musicians, painters, jewelers, a lapidary (stone cutter), photographers, a cheese maker, soap maker and quilter, according to organizers.

A photographer also will be on hand with a photo booth and props to shoot photos at the event and make them available for download.

And the event will feature the first-ever public showing of a special series entitled “A Variation of the Northern Road.”

Music will be performed during the event by Steve Lindsley from noon to 3 p.m. Lindsley will be followed by mandolin duo George Smith and David Crawford from 3 to 6 p.m.

In addition, carriage rides will be available for $5 a ride, and a massage therapist will be available to rub one’s troubles away for $1 a minute.

Beer, wine, mulled wine and food also will be available throughout the day.

Round Peak Vineyards is at 765 Round Peak Church Road. For more information visit www.roundpeak.com.
