MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Johnny Lee Bromfield, 54, of 134 Indian Grove Church Road, Mount Airy, passed away Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, 2012, at his home. Mr. Bromfield was born Feb. 24, 1958, in Washington, D.C., the son of the late Robert Lee Bromfield Sr. and Virginia Bell Hinkley Bromfield. Johnny was a self-employed diesel mechanic and general handyman for many years. He is survived by his wife, Regina Lynn Hatton Bromfield of the home; a daughter, Jessica Marie Bromfield Underwood of Virginia; three stepsons, Joshua Hatton of Mount Airy, Andrew (Ashley) Hatton of Dobson and Tyler (Rebekah Goins) Hatton of Pilot Mountain; four grandchildren, Johnny Lee Bromfield II and Sharrissa Wells, both of the home, and Jerrell Nay and Natalie Hatton, both of Dobson; two sisters, Delores Wetzel of Alexandria, Va., and Virginia Bromfield of Narrows, Va.; a brother, Charles Bromfield of Roanoke, Va.; a special family member, Marie Hinkley of Blacksburg, Va.; and a special friend, Anna Huffman of Lowgap. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bromfield was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee “Bobby” Bromfield Jr.; and a special cousin, Marvin “Fuzzy” Hinkley. A graveside service will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Indian Grove Family Cemetery, with the Rev. Tommy Floyd and the Rev. Frank Harmon officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Indian Grove Baptist Church. Flowers will be accepted, or memorial contributions may be made to Moody Funeral Services, P.O.
