LOWGAP — Mr. Joseph Dewayne “Joe” Dowell, 27, of Lowgap, passed away Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, due to an accident. Joe was born in Surry County on Dec. 28, 1984, to Angela Sue Morris and C. Dewayne Dowell. He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Angela Barker and Eugene Burrows; father and stepmother, C. Dewayne Dowell and Shannon Newman; special “stepdad,” Wesley Barker; sisters, Brandy Dowell, Whisper Barker, Patyn Barker, Kayla Dowell and Amber Dowell; a special son, Domique Wyatt; special friend, Beth Reece Dowell; several aunts, uncles and numerous cousins; a niece, Nevaeh Journey Dowell; and special dog, “Puppy.” Funeral services will be conducted on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Moody Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Woody Flippen and the Rev. Oscar Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Dowell Grove Family Cemetery.
