Mr. Stephen Dean Bolen, age 63 of Roxboro, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2012 at Durham County Regional Hospital. Mr. Bolen was born in Surry County on December 19, 1948, the son of Janice Simmons Bolen Jones and the late James Carlyle Bolen. Steve was a graduate of Appalachian State University and taught History in Roxboro, NC until his retirement. He was a loving son and brother who will be dearly missed by his family and many friends and very special friend, Coy Monk. Surviving are his mother, Janice Jones of Mount Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Robin and Mike McKinney of Mount Airy and Marie and Jim Guynn of Ararat, VA and nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, Steve was preceded in death by his step father, Charles Hassell Jones. The family will have a private memorial service.
