Mount Airy author Donna G. Smith will hold a book signing Saturday at Pages Books and Coffee, where her debut historical true crime book, “Murder in Mayberry,” will be available.
“The book contains 25 amazing true crime stories covering 35 murders, from Surry County, spanning the years 1892 to
1976,” she said of her book. “Some of the stories you will read may sound beyond belief. You may find yourself saying ‘It couldn’t have happened in Mayberry,’ but it did.”
Smith grew up in Mount Airy. She began writing for enjoyment in her spare time and was first published in Hometown Memories. in 1997. She has been writing for “The Baker Street Connection,” a cold cases and missing persons blog, since 2006.
Saturday’s book signing is from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
