DOBSON — Surry Central will host its third annual alumni basketball games this Saturday, featuring several prominent players from the past two decades.

Among those participating are Matt Richardson (third in all-time scoring) and Janel Kidd, a 1,000-point scorer and tri-county player of the year.

Going against the alumni teams are this year’s varsity squads, giving the fans a sneak preview of what the 2012-13 teams will be like before the official season kicks off Nov. 19 against Forbush.

The girls JV team will take the floor first, playing a contest at 4 p.m., followed by the JV boys.

Then the varsity girls will take on the alumni women. Finally, the varsity boys take on the alumni men.

Rather than charge an admission, the school is asking for donations to go to the service projects of the Surry Central Student Council. Also, canned food items for the Foothills Food Pantry are welcomed.
