• A motor vehicle break-in was discovered at a city residence Sunday which involved the theft of medications and other property, according to Mount Airy Police Department reports. The incident occurred at the home of Colleen O’Shaunessy Payne and Caroline Anne Hanlon on Rawley Avenue, where an unlocking device was used to enter a secured 2004 Jeep Liberty. In addition to seven different types of medications, a leather jacket valued at $300 was stolen along with a silver Apple iPod and an auxiliary iPod cord.

• A break-in that involved property damage was discovered Monday at a Spencer’s Inc. building on Willow Street owned by Jim Crossingham. After gaining entry through an unsecured door, someone climbed onto the roof and broke multiple windows with an unknown object. Damage of $150 occurred to the windows and slate material.

• Christopher Gary Davis, 31, of 237 Lindsay St., is facing violations of hit and run, driving while impaired, operating a vehicle with no insurance and revoked registration which were filed Sunday night. Davis was located at his home after his 2005 Toyota Avalon was involved in a hit-and-run collision, for which no details were listed. He was found to have been driving while impaired based on subsequent tests. Davis is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on Nov. 19.

• A larceny was reported Monday at Patterson Toyota in which a known suspect removed the 2013 registration-year sticker from the license plate of a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee owned by a dealership employee, Shirley Ann Easter Jones of Strawberry Lane. The sticker was then attached to the license plate of the suspect’s vehicle.

• Robin Nicole Harvey, 23, of 240 Starlite Road, was served Sunday with a warrant on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon which had been filed on Oct. 13 with Terri Bramlett of Starlite Road as the complainant. Harvey was held in the Surry County Jail under a $1,000 secured bond and is to be in District Court on Nov. 16.

• Property damage occurred Sunday at the residence of Patricia Nadine Castle on Mayberry Avenue, where someone spray-painted the exterior of a window at her apartment and then fled. The damage was put at $100.

• Kevin Lee Neal, 16, of 1539 W. Devon Drive, was cited for larceny Sunday at Walmart, where he allegedly concealed vehicle decals, a Griffin iPhone case and iPhone privacy protectors and left the store. The merchandise was valued altogether at $40. Neal’s District Court date is Nov. 20.

• A larceny was reported Tuesday, although it is believed to have happened in September, which involved three hubcaps being removed from a 1999 Buick Park Avenue owned by Linda Wood Cooke, an Alton Lane resident. The theft, which resulted in a $50 loss, occurred in a parking area at 1900 S. Main St.

• Clothing and other property was stolen during a break-in at a Mount Airy business which was discovered Friday. Lola Consignments on North Main Street was entered and exited via an attic access and in addition to miscellaneous clothing, various adult and children’s shoes were stolen along with perfumes. No value was listed for the items taken.
