PILOT MOUNTAIN — Mr. Bobby Perry Lowe, 73, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2012, following a lengthy illness. He was born on March 23, 1939, in Richland, Va., to the late Jerry Lowe and Josie Blankenship Lowe Reedy. Mr. Lowe served in the military and retired from textile as a supervisor. He was president of the Surry County Beekeepers in 2000 and 2001. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Mr. Lowe is survived by his loving wife, Lena McKinney Lowe of the home; son, Thomas Perry Lowe; two daughters, Teresa Annette Lowe Simmons and Treva Gail Lowe Draughn and husband Chris Draughn; grandchildren, Jessica E. Lowe, Tara Mae Dawn Beck, Dustin Stuart McAdams, Jonathan N. Holt, Dixie Ray Eugene McAdams, Krista Fate Draughn; two stepgrandchildren, Haley and Hunter Draughn; four great-grandchildren, Braiden Gage Beck, Jack, Logen, and Caden Lowe; and numerous special nieces, nephews, family and friends. Mr. Lowe was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Earl, Claude, Hubert, Johnny; twin brother, Billy Lowe; and sisters, Pauline Hess, Pearl Brown, Jenny Brown, and Lucille Lowe. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Cox-Needham Chapel with the Rev. Rickey Spencer (chaplain of Mountain Valley Hospice) officiating. Interment will follow at Pinnacle Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service.
