To all of the organizers of today’s Relay for Life event. There are so many positives to mention here.
First, Relay has been a highly successful local and national movement to raise money for cancer research. Second, the event has done wonders to raise the profile of the fight against cancer. Third, and in some ways maybe most important, it has provided a way for survivors and their families to publicly celebrate their victories, and to memorialize and support those who have lost loved ones to this dreaded disease.
Putting on this event literally takes hundreds of volunteer hours, but every minute is well worth it. We hope many of you will turn out for the Relay today.
