PILOT MOUNTAIN — Mr. George Wade Hall, 75, of Pilot Mountain, passed away on Aug. 29, 2010, at his home with his family by his side. Mr. Hall was born in Surry County on May 17, 1935, to the late Elbert and Gracie Gammons Hall. Wade worked as a logger and a farmer and was of the Holiness faith. Mr. Hall is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Jester Hall of the home; one son, Tony Dean Hall of Pilot Mountain; two granddaughters, Charity Annette and Rodney Cox and Tammy Jean and John Smith; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Cox, Nathan Cox, James Smith and Abigail Smith; one sister, Barbara Jean Freeman of Elkin; and three brothers and sisters-in-law, James William “J.W.” Hall of Dobson, Herman and Carolyn Hall of Siloam and Homer and Margaret Hall of Greensboro. Mr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Danny Michael Hall; brother-in-law, Calvin Freeman; and sister-in-law, Edith Hall. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, at Cox-Needham Chapel at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Clayton Tilley officiating with interment to follow in the Hall Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 2010, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Cox-Needham Funeral Home.
