n Rebecca Lynn Griffith, 30, of 1907 Inman Circle, was cited Sunday for allegedly allowing a dog to run at large in the city limits. A canine owned by Griffith was found to be loose and off her premises, according to police records. She is scheduled to appear in Surry District Court on Sept. 21.
n A break-in and larceny were reported on Aug. 16 at TNT Carports at Holly Springs. After a secured door to the shop was pried open, a Garmin scanning tool valued at $3,000 was stolen.
n A motor vehicle was broken into on Aug. 15 in the parking lot of Golden Corral on U.S. 601. Entry was gained to the locked 2008 Ford Edge SUV by unknown means, leading to the theft of a purse and wallet owned by Betsy Lynn Hannah of Stuart, Va. Among the property listed as missing is a cell phone, checkbook, debit card, driver’s license, Social Security card, makeup kit and weapon permit. There were no signs of forcible entry.
n Veronica Denise Webster, 29, of 119 Oakwood Drive, was arrested on Aug. 14 on charges of larceny, failing to appear in court and providing fictitious information to a law enforcement officer. Webster was encountered during a consent search at a Fancy Gap Road address and found to be wanted on the larceny and failing-to-appear violations through an investigation that revealed outstanding warrants filed against her in March, including by the N.C. Department of Correction. She also allegedly gave her name as “Kayla Martin,” and was confined in the Surry County Jail under a $9,500 secured bond. Webster is slated to appear in Surry District Court on Sept. 21.
n Shannon Lee Goins, 37, of 402 Hunter Drive, was served on Aug. 14 with a warrant on a larceny violation issued by the Pilot Mountain Police Department on Aug. 4, for which no other details were listed. Goins is scheduled to be in District Court on Nov. 1.
n Alfredo Gama Lopez, 24, of 721 Sunset Drive, was jailed on multiple violations on Aug. 13 resulting from an incident at Wal-Mart. Lopez ran from store employees after allegedly concealing paint pens and was located on Brook Avenue near Williamson Avenue. The stolen property was found on his person and police also discovered outstanding warrants against Lopez on charges of failing to appear in court for larceny, driving while license revoked and larceny violations from Forsyth and Guilford counties. He was held in the Surry County Jail under a $1,500 secured bond and is to appear in court in Dobson on Sept. 24.
n Items owned by Pamela McCormick Marion of Turner Mountain Road and Kristina Lorraine Jordan of Elkin were reported stolen on Aug. 13 from a vehicle while it was parked at a Greenhill Road location. The case involves the theft of credit and debit cards, $200 in cash, a driver’s license, a gas card, a bank card and other property from a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban.
All the unsolved cases listed remain open for further investigation.
