DOBSON — Dr. Darin Cozzens, chair of Surry Community College’s English department, has written a collection of short fiction entitled “Light of the New Day.”
Recently published by Zarahemla Press, this collection is about the people of fictional Balford, Wyo., rural Mormons in the latter part of the 20th century. The earliest of the 12 stories was written more than two decades ago; the most recent, within the last several years.
“The motivation behind the writing,” said Cozzens, “was to tell, as well as I know how, the stories of a place and people that are dear to me.”
Light of the New Day is available online through ZarahemlaBooks.com and Amazon.com. The collection also will be available at a book signing scheduled for Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Pages Bookstore.
