Madison Brianna Fowler and Kevin Vaughn Wright were united in a ceremony at Fairview Baptist Church in Dobson on Aug. 7. The mid-afternoon ceremony was performed by Dr. Andy Atkins.

The bride is the daughter of Mona Fowler and the granddaughter of Delano and Annette Fowler, all of Dobson. The groom is the son of Amy Wright Sprinkle of Dobson and Kevin Poindexter of Mount Airy, and the grandson of Janie Wright of Mount Airy and the late Rev. John Wright, and Wayne and Bonnie Poindexter of the Siloam area.

After a scripture reading and the exchanging of the wedding vows, the couple further committed their love for each other by the creation of a “Unity Sand” vessel and by signing the groom’s late grandfather’s family Bible.

Soloists Lisha High and Donnie Poplin provided beautiful arrangements of “Feels Like Home” and “Keeper of the Stars.” Dr. Atkins accompanied himself on the piano as he concluded the ceremony with a beautiful vocal rendition of “The Lord's Prayer.” Derek White assisted with sound and Rickey Dobbins was videographer.

Maid of honor was Beth Key and bridesmaids were Kelly Fain, Camille France and Meagan Davis, all friends of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Marissa Fowler, cousin of the bride. The flower girl was Emma Longworth, friend of the bride.

The groom’s brother, Dylan Sawyers, was best man. Groomsmen were Alex Fowler, cousin of the bride; Mitchell Leagan and Anthony Giampa, friends of the groom.

At the guest register were Stacey Longworth, Kaitlyn Webb and Georgia Longworth. The wedding was directed by Kristi Fowler, aunt of the bride.

A reception was held in their honor in the church fellowship hall immediately following the ceremony. The royal blue and yellow color scheme was continued there with beautiful flowers adorning the hall. The reception was catered by Candylicious Candies and Catering of Dobson. Aunts of the bride, Betty Ridge, Carolyn Fowler and Patty Fowler, served. Cake d'Jadore of Greensboro provided the delicious three-tiered wedding cake.

The bride is a rising sophomore at Surry Community College and is employed at Dairy Queen in Dobson. The groom is a Surry Community College graduate in mechanical drafting and is employed at Superior Manufacturing in Winston-Salem.

After a honeymoon week in Orlando, the couple will reside at 1055 Brindle Road in Dobson.
