Gentlemen, grab your favorite jeans and pair them with tux jacket or suit coat, and ladies, dust off your pearls because on Aug. 6 at 6:30 p.m. the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History will host its summer FUN-Raising event, aptly titled Black Tie and Blue Jeans/Denim and Pearls in the Pavilion at Cross Creek Country Club.
The evening is a pseudo-formal dinner dance featuring music by the Mediocre Bad Guys.
This event is part of the Mount Airy Museum of Regional History’s annual series of FUN-Raisers that started with the Bunny Hop in April.
According to Matt Edwards, the museum’s executive director, “Black Tie and Blue Jeans is one of those events that’s really all about having fun and not taking yourself too seriously — and it doesn’t hurt that it’s a great way to show your support for the museum.”
During the course of the evening, attendees will be treated to a traditional cookout, music by the Mediocre Bad Guys. Baby sitting services are available for children ages 4-12. The event will also culminate with the final drawing in the museum’s ongoing 50/50 fundraiser.
Tickets for the Black Tie and Blue Jean event are $35 per person and 50/50 tickets are $20 (you don’t have to be present to win). Both are available through Wednesday at the museum or may be purchased from any museum board member. For more information or to reserve a spot contact the museum at 786-4478.
