MOUNT AIRY — Mr. Thomas Junior Nelson, 64, of Cedar Ridge Place, Mount Airy, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at his home. Mr. Nelson was born Nov. 12, 1945, in Wilkes County to Millard and Ollie Royal Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are two sons, Thomas Nelson of Mount Airy and Daniel Nelson and wife Rebecca of Sparta; one daughter, Lisa Nelson of Mount Airy; three brothers, Bill Nelson of North Wilkesboro, Dillard Nelson of Moravian Falls and Jimmy Nelson of Shelby; two sisters, Nancy Childress of North Wilkesboro and Nannie Perry of Cricket; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday, July 30, 2010, at Outreach Mission Baptist Church McGrady with the Rev. Tommy Brown officiating. The body will be placed in the church at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow in Nelson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the home of Thomas Nelson at 236 Cedar Ridge Place, Mount Airy, from 7 p.m. Thursday until 11 a.m. Friday, where the body will be present. Flowers will be accepted. Miller Funeral Service in North Wilkesboro is in charge of the arrangements.
