Summer Leigh Denny and Nathan William Kreeger were united in marriage on July 24 at the home of Tim and Kelly Davis of Pilot Mountain. The 5:30 p.m. ceremony was performed by the Rev. Amy Coles, Albemarle District superintendent, and Pastor Jack Darida, Quaker Gap Baptist Church.

The bride is the daughter of Perry and Robin Denny of Pilot Mountain.Grandparents are Calvin and Wilma Tucker of Shoals and the late Phil and Lunda Denny. The bride graduated from Appalachian State University in 2006 with a degree in elementary education. She received a master’s degree in educational media from Appalachian State University in 2010 and is employed by the Surry County School System as a fifth-grade teacher at Shoals Elementary.

The groom is the son of Billy and Judy Kreeger of King. Grandparents are June Tedder and the late Otis Tedder of Germanton and the late Dick and Ethel Kreeger. He graduated from Appalachian State University in 2004 with a computer information systems degree and is employed as a helpdesk manager at ISP Sports in Winston-Salem.

The bride was given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, Perry Denny.

Maid of honor was Laura Shumate of Pilot Mountain. Bridesmaids were Katie Miller, cousin of the bride, of King; Maggie Davis, cousin of the bride, of Pilot Mountain; and Natalie Borders, sister of the groom, of Winston-Salem.

The flower girls were Emma Hutchens and Sophie Hutchens, cousins of the bride. Ring bearer was Brennan Borders, nephew of the groom.

Best man was Billy Kreeger, father of the groom, of King. Groomsmen were Dennis Ruff, uncle of the groom, of Germanton; Daniel Synder, cousin of the groom, of Pinnacle; and Jeremy Borders of Winston-Salem, brother-in-law of the groom. Ushers were Jon Tucker, cousin of the bride, of Shoals; and Will Miller, cousin of the bride, of King.

Program attendant was Mollie Davis, cousin of the bride, and Sarah Denny, cousin of the bride, was in charge of the guest register.

A program of wedding music was provided by Phil Denny, brother of the bride.

The wedding director was Buffey Moore, cousin of the bride, with photography by David Shirk, Unplugged Photography, and Merideth Ruff, cousin of the groom, of Germanton. Videographer was Brett Hunter of Winston-Salem.

Following the ceremony, a backyard tent reception was catered by Little Richard’s Barbecue of Mount Airy. The wedding cake was provided by Artist’s Way Creation of Danbury. Music was by First Call DJ, Joel Smith.

After a wedding trip to the Hawaiian Islands of Oahu and Kauai, the couple will reside in King.
