She spent a week in the House of Representatives fulfilling that role, which includes assisting legislators and their staffs while also learning about North Carolina’s governmental structure.
Lawson, whose parents are Dennis and Cathy Lawson of Pilot Mountain, was sponsored by Rep. Bryan Holloway of Stokes County.
For decades, the state House has relied on the services of pages, who help deliver bills and amendments for representatives during daily legislative sessions and committee meetings. They also lend a hand in the offices of individual lawmakers and run errands around the Legislature.
