Pilot Knob Park Country Club held it’s annual Ladies Invitational Tuesday.
The team of Cindy Thomas, Linda Pegram, Liz Morgan and Molly Scott finished first in the Texas Scramble format with an overall score of 104.
The team of Martha Ore, Marguerit Burcham, Sara Bryant and Trenea Perry finished second at 107, while the team of Linda Sheets, Mary Jane Carico, Myra Kirby and Claire Wilkerson came in third at 111.
PMYSA Soccer signups
The Pilot Mountain Youth Soccer Association (PMYSA) is set to kick off another season with its fall soccer signups. Cost is $40 per child. Signups are scheduled for each Saturday from now to July 24 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Armfield Center in Pilot Mountain.

Mount Airy football camp
Mount Airy Bears Little League will be hold a football camp on Saturday, July 24 from 8 a.m. until noon for ages 7–12. Camp will be held at MAHS Wallace Shelton Stadium and hosted by Mount Airy High School football coaches and players. Cost is $10. All participants should wear shorts and sneakers/cleats. Dobson Eagle signups
The Dobson Eagles will have football signups July 24 from 10 a.m. until noon at the Dobson Elementary School baseball field. The fee is $50. A copy of the player’s birth certificate is required. A parent/player meeting will be held at Dobson Elementary School July 29 at 7 pm with Eagle Camp Day set for July 31 from 9 a.m. until 1 pm
Mount Airy volleyball camp
Mount Airy will host its seventh annual volleyball camp July 26-29 from 8 a.m. until noon for rising sixth through ninth graders in the gyms of Mount Airy High and Junior High schools. Registration is $60.

North Surry football camp
North Surry will hold its annual football camp from July 27 through 29 from 8 a.m. to noon for all rising third through eighth graders who will be playing for the White Plains Raiders, Franklin Greyhounds, Gentry Patriots or Meadowview Mustangs next year. SBAYC basketball camp
Surry Baptist Youth Ministries will hold its third annual free youth basketball camp for boys and girls ages 6-11 July 27 through July 30 at the old White Plains gym from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Pilot Mountain softball camp
There will be an overnight softball camp at the Armfield Civic Center from 5 pm July 28 until 5 pm July 29 for ages 8 to 18.
The fee is $75 and includes camp T-shirt, three meals, use of facilities (swimming pool) and snacks each day of camp.
The camp will include instruction from former and current champions in the Pilot Mountain area.
Camp will be held at the Armfield Civic Center and East Surry Little League in Pilot Mountain. Drop off and pick up will be at the Armfield Civic Center.

SCC volleyball camp
Surry Community College will hold a volleyball ccamp Aug. 2 through Aug. 4 at the SCC gym in Dobson. Two separate sessions. are scheduled, the first from 9 a.m. until noon is for individuals with less than one year experience. The camp is open to ages 6-16 with a cost of $30 ($20 with two or more from same family) and includes a camp t-shirt. Camp registration begins at 8:30 a.m. (first session) and 12:30 p.m. (second session). Mount Airy golf clinic
The Lady Bears/Cross Creek Women’s Golf Association clinic will be held on Aug. 3-4 for girls ages 11-18 at Cross Creek Country Club from 9 a.m. until noon. RCC summer camp signups
Reeves Community Center is set to hold a pair of youth basketball camps in August. August 9 through 12 is the kindergarten through second-grade camp, with each session set for 6 to 8:30 pm The following week, Aug. 16 through 19, is the third-grade through sixth-grade camp, with camp times the same.
Cost is $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents, with a 20-percent discount for participant package holders. The camp will be directed by former North Surry standout and Lenoir-Rhyne basketball player Whitney Culler, along with several Surry Storm Basketball Club coaches.
Reeves also will hold a youth volleyball camp Aug. 2 through 5 from 6 to 8:30 pm for second through seventh graders. The camp will be divided into two divisions (second through fourth graders and fifth through seventh graders) and will be directed by the Surry Storm Volleyball Club. Cost is $40 for residents and $50 for non-residents, with a 20-percent discount for participant package holders.
Red Cross Charity Tournament
Pilot Knob Park Country Club in Pilot Mountain will host the Surry County Chapter American Red Cross Golf Tournament, Aug. 12. at 8 a.m. Pre-registration ends Aug. 5 with on-site registration beginning at 7 a.m.
The tournament will consist of four person teams in a captain’s choic format. Registration is $100 per person with sponsorship available for $500 per team. Prizes and gifts will be awarded and breakfast will be provided at 7 a.m.

Surry HOF applications available
The Surry County Sports Hall of Fame began in 2005 as a means to preserve the history of sports in Surry County. The Hall of Fame will recognize and perpetuate the outstanding athletic tradition of Surry County by honoring and memorializing individuals and/or organizations that have made exceptional contributions to this tradition.
Nominations applications for the 2010 class of the Surry County Sports Hall of Fame are now available and will be accepted through Aug. 27. A ceremony honoring the inductees is typically held in October and their names unveiled on the Hall of Fame monument in Fisher River Park.
Nomination applications may be obtained at the Surry County Parks and Recreation Department, Elkin Recreation and Parks Department, Armfield Recreation and Civic Center and Reeves Community Center. Nominations also can be received on the Surry County Parks and Recreation Web site at www.co.surry.nc.us or by contacting a member of the Hall of Fame Committee.
