In a day and age when throwing bottles and other items in the trash can is much easier, the county commissioners are going out of their way to make sure county residents have a place to recycle those bottles more readily instead — and area citizens are taking advantage of it, according to numbers reported this week.

To the Piedmont Land Conservancy for continuing its efforts of preserving the land on and around Fishers Peak for future generations to enjoy.
Too many times developers get ahold of precious parcels of land like Fishers Peak and turn them into housing developments and other eye sores that can be seen for miles around below them. Thanks to PLC and the landowners the group is working with, the peak will be open for the public to enjoy and the wildlife to live on for years to come without the danger of being developed.
