Kristin Leigh Tolbert and Todd Michael Garrison, both of Statesville, were united in marriage on May 15 at First Baptist Church of Statesville. The Rev. Jack Causey performed the 5 p.m. ceremony.

Kristin is the daughter of Gary and Fonda Tolbert of Statesville. She is the granddaughter of Winnie Lou Marion of Dobson and the late Jack D. Marion and the late Mr. and Mrs. Howard B. Tolbert of Mount Airy. A 2000 graduate of Statesville High School, she earned a Bachelor of Science from North Carolina State University in 2004 and a Master of Science in nutrition from Meredith College in 2009. She is employed by Sodexo as a registered dietitian and works at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

Todd is the son of Ben and Susan Garrison of Statesville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene E. Broome and the late Mr. and Mrs. Brate M. Garrison Jr. of Statesville. A 1997 graduate of Statesville High School, he earned a Bachelor of Science and master’s degree in civil engineering from North Carolina State University in 2001 and 2003. He is a transportation engineer for the North Carolina Department of Transportation, Structure Design Unit, as well as a licensed professional engineer.

The bride was escorted by her father, Gary Tolbert. Courtney Huffman served as maid of honor, and Lesley Black Colvert served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Kristin Bullard, Allison Gabriel Russell and Amanda Russell, and Katie Tolbert, cousin of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Madison Tolbert, cousin of the bride.

Avery Leigh Colvert was flower girl. Nathan Garrison, nephew of the groom, was ring bearer.

Jeffery Hunter was the best man. Brent Garrison, brother of the groom, Zach Tolbert, brother of the bride, Joseph Reynolds, Martin Kirby and Kyle Teeter were groomsmen.

The guest register was attended by Jacqueline Kirkpatrick and programs were distributed by attendants Chelsea Merrill and Trinity Baldonado. Music was provided by pianist, Jane Pardue, and soloists, Nathan Rash of Statesville, and Mary Selvidge of Bailey.

The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents the eve of the wedding at Old Towne Restaurant and Bar in Statesville. The wedding reception was hosted by the bride’s parents at Rock Barn Golf & Spa in Conover.

After their trip to Antigua, the newlyweds reside in Smithfield.
