In a budget session held on June 7, the board decided to raise water rates 10 percent for all customer using more than 2,000 gallons per month. There will be no new property taxes and town employees will get a cost of living increase raise.
The regular monthly meeting will be held at 7 p.m. in the board room at town hall.
Following the invocation and the Pledge of Allegiance, the board will vote for the approval of the minutes of the May 24 and June 7 meetings.
Next, the public hearing on the budget will be held.
The commissioners will then decide on whether or not to adopt the new budget.
The board will also hear a proposal to amend the town’s zoning ordinance to allow computer gaming establishments in general business zoning.
Commissioners will also consider a resolution supporting the N.C. 268 scenic bikeway.
The board will then hear from each department within the town, such as the ABC board and the police department.
The town manager will present his monthly report before the board will hold a closed session on personnel at the end of the meeting.
