MOUNT AIRY — Mr. William Joseph Gallagher, 85, of Mount Airy, died Saturday, June 12, 2010, at his home. He was born Dec. 18, 1924, in Schenectady, N.Y., to the late James J. and Myrtle McKaeown Gallagher. Mr. Gallagher was retired from the accounting department of the Schenectady New York Post Office and a member of Trinity Episcopal Church of Mount Airy. He enjoyed driving for the Meals on Wheels Program in Mount Airy and was a member of the VFW Post 2019 of Mount Airy and American Legion Post 123. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Dwyer Gallagher of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Dona Gallagher Hess and husband Peter of Cary and Debra Gallagher Cebula and husband Brian of Amsterdam, N.Y.; children by marriage, David K. Prusko of Brooklyn, N.Y., Michele Prusko Juno and husband William of Mount Airy and Steven D. Prusko of Brooklyn, N.Y.; grandchildren, Zachary Hess, Tinsley Hess, Elizabeth Juno, Austin Juno and John Juno; brother, Charles T. Gallagher of Springhill, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Gallagher was preceded in death by his brother, James Gallagher. A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church conducted by the Rev. Ray Hanna and the Rev. Nelson Hodgkins. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church Staples Program, 472 N.
