These veterans and fallen heroes deserve the recognition and remembrance that is given annually on this important day. They have sacrificed their time and in cases their lives, to keep our country free and safe, and for that they should be honored.

To all of the people who helped give an abandoned veteran a final resting place.
The phone call of one Hospice worker to the Veterans Services office has lead to a lot of work by many people to make sure Scott Farley will be properly honored and buried at his funeral Monday as a veteran. Anyone’s service to their country, no matter how short or small of a job, should be recognized.
*****
To Wesley Lima, a Millennium Charter Academy student, who proficiently spelled enough words and defeated numbers of other Spelling Bee contestants to make it to the National Spelling Bee this past week.
While Lima may not have come in first at the national level, he represented our area well on his way to the D.C. competition, and area residents should be proud of his accomplishments.
