n New River Trail State Park is hosting the second annual “Take a Kid Fishing Day” from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Participants will meet at Foster Falls River Company for sign in. Door prizes will be given away throughout the day. A trophy will be awarded to the biggest fish caught in each age group. Bring a fishing pole, bait, plenty of water and sun screen. n Millennium Charter Academy elementary students will perform “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” at the Andy Griffith Playhouse. Tickets are $5 at the door and the public is invited to attend.

n The Mount Airy Little League Bears will have a 31 bingo at Jones School Cafeteria. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and games will begin at 7 p.m. Concessions will be available for purchase.
